Alabama St. dominates Savannah St.

SAVANNAH - Erlin Sanders returned an interceptions 30 yards for a touchdown and Ira Pinckney fell on a fumble in the end zone for another as Alabama State's defense sparked a 28-13 victory over Savannah State on Saturday. <br>

ASU (6-5) held the Tigers (1-9) to only 152 yards, including only 22 on 42 rushing attempts. <br>
<br>
Alabama State had taken a 14-0 lead on Clayton Harris' 10-yard scoring pass to Shaun Holmes in the first quarter and Robert Randolph's 9-yard run in the third. <br>
<br>
Savannah State cut the lead to 14-7 on Clyde Tullis' 6-yard scoring pass to Damon Thomas with 6:42 left in the third period. <br>
<br>
Pinckney then recovered the fumble in the final 81 seconds of the third and Sanders returned his interception with 6:15 to play to build a 28-7 lead. <br>
<br>
Tullis scored from the 1 to cap a 78-yard drive for the Tigers with 1:14 left in the game.
