GAINESVILLE - More than 200 Hall County students will be get an early Christmas gift next week.

In coordination with the Hall County Health Department, the Lenscrafters Foundation Vision Van will help 226 needy children get screened and fitted for glasses.

Hall County nurse Mamie Coker said it's a great program.

"It's wonderful to see something be available where you can identify those that need help and them someone who is willing to help get them glasses," Coker said.

The Van came to Hall County back in 200 and Coker said the system's participation may have helped in bringing the program back in such a short time span.

"It's a nationwide program and I'm sure they don't go to them same places so soon very often," Coker said. "The fact that we had a lot of children cooperate and participate may been a factor. We're just glad they're coming back."

The Van will be coming to the Lakewood Baptist Church parking lot next Thursday and Friday.
