PSC allows new competitor into gas market

ATLANTA - The Georgia Public Service Commission is allowing Walton Energy Incorporated to market natural gas. <br> <br> Walton Energy can now compete in the market of natural gas to residential and business customers. <br> <br> Walton Energy is a subsidiary of Walton Electric Membership Corporation, a consumer-owned utility with 99,000 accounts in 10 north Georgia counties. <br> <br> The state Natural Gas Consumers&#39; Relief Act of 2002 gives electric membership corporations the right to apply for certification to market natural gas. <br> <br> Walton Energy will offer monthly pricing with no contract or fixed pricing that allows consumers to lock in gas prices for the year.
