FAYETTEVILLE - A Clayton County woman charged with killing a bystander in Fayette County in a high-speed police chase now faces new charges of identity fraud.
A federal grand jury indicted 44-year-old Loraine McCrary of Jonesboro Tuesday on seven charges of identity theft and conspiracy. Also indicted on the charges were McCrary's 39-year-old brother, Algie McCrary of College Park, and her 28-year-old daughter, Florence Pino.
Federal authorities say when police arrested McCrary after the crash, they found more than 30 credit cards inside her sport utility vehicle. Investigators say the cards had at least 20 variations of her name as well as fraudulent IRS W-2 forms.
Last week, a grand jury indicted McCrary on state murder charges. Police say officers pursued her 20 miles on July 27 until she crashed into a van, killing 41-year-old Chuck Vicha of Peachtree City.
McCrary had three of her children in the vehicle and led police on a 22-mile chase through three counties before she crashed into Vicha's minivan.
