BRUNSWICK - Officials were investigating the death of a paper machine operator killed on the job at a Georgia-Pacific pulp mill in south Georgia.
Twenty-nine-year-old Michael Douglas O'Quinn of Brunswick was found Tuesday lying on the floor next to a machine that produces ``fluff pulp'' for use in products such as coffee filters and artificial snow.
Glynn County coroner Jimmy Durden said O'Quinn was struck on the left side of the head. He described the blow as ``not extensive,'' but still enough to kill the man.
It wasn't clear how the accident occurred, but Durden said the death most likely will be ruled an accident.
Company spokeswoman Anna Umphress said Thursday that officials from the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration and company safety inspectors were still investigating the accident.
