GREENWOOD, S.C. - A Decatur, Ga., bail bondsman who was beaten up Saturday night apparently targeted the wrong person, authorities say.
Jean Samuel Gal, 27, was trying to capture a bail jumper from Georgia when he blocked in a car at an apartment complex, sheriff's Capt. Ricky Miles said.

The two men and one woman got out of the car, attacked Gal and took a gun he was carrying, Miles said.

Two shots were fired in the scuffle, but no one was hit, authorities said.

Cherry Hill, of Columbia, is charged with lynching, and the other two suspects will face the same charge, Miles said.

None of the suspects in the assault were the person Gal was looking for, Miles said.
