Buford couple dies in Alabama plane crash

TUSKEGEE, ALABAMA - A Buford couple died in an Alabama plane crash Sunday morning.<br> <br> Officials say the crash occurred short of a runway at an airport in Tuskegee Sunday morning.<br> <br> Monday, they identified the couple as Charles and Deborah Golden, both 49, and from Buford.<br> <br> Deborah Golden was pronounced dead at the scene and her husband, who was piloting the plane, died later in a hospital. <br> <br> It was unclear why the small plane crashed about 50 yards from the runway after leaving an air show in Evergreen over the weekend, police said. <br> <br> Montgomery television station WSFA reported the pilot crashed after trying to avoid a plane on the runway. <br> <br> The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
