There's a tropical storm watch flying on the Florida and Georgia coastlines ahead of Tropical Depression Kyle.

The watch extends from Cocoa Beach, Florida, northward to Brunswick, Georgia. Forecasters now believe Kyle could strengthen a bit in the coming 24 hours.

For now, Kyle is centered about 120 miles east of Cape Canaveral and moving west at about 12 miles an hour. On that track, the center of the system would be near the Florida coast late Thursday night or early Friday.

Top sustained winds are at only about 30 miles an hour, but some strengthening is possible. An Air Force hurricane hunter plane is on the way for a closer look, since satellite images indicate Kyle is getting better organized.

Forrecasters look for Kyle to eventually turn more northward and then eventually to the north-northeast. But landfall might have occurred by that time. In 48 hours, they look for its center to be near Charleston, South Carolina.

Kyle centered at latitude 28.5 north, longitude 78.6 west.
