LAWRENCEVILLE - About 60 people showed up to sound off about the rate hike being proposed by Gwinnett County's bus system.
The plan would raise the one-way fare from Gwinnett to Atlanta from $2 to $3.

The increase would push the price of a roundtrip ticket to Atlanta from $4 to $6. One woman told Gwinnett County officials during last night's hearing she did not believe they could justify a 50 percent increase.
The five-member transit system board plans to make a recommendation to the Gwinnett County Commission by Monday. Commissioners are scheduled to vote on the nex rate structure by Tuesday.
Officials say ridership has nearly tripled since the bus service started in November 2001.
Officials are proposing the fare hike to buy more buses and add routes to handle overcrowding.
