BRASELTON, Ga. - American Le Mans Series cars will battle for starting positions in Saturday's Audi presents Petit Le Mans in a qualifying session set for Friday afternoon at Road Atlanta.

GTS and GT cars will have a 20-minute qualifying session beginning at 12:45 p.m. (EDT), with LMP 900 and LMP 675 cars having a session after that.

Thursday's night practice was slowed by rain and a wet race track, as was the second practice session earlier in the day. With a dry track on Thursday morning, the Audi R8 of Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro was the fastest at 1:11.810.

The Panoz LMP-1 Prototype of David Brabham, Jan Magnussen and David Donohue suffered heavy damage in an accident in Turn 10 during the second session of the day. Donohue was at the wheel when a mechanical failure sent the car off course and into a barrier. The team missed the night practice as it worked to repair the car.
