GDOT taking bids on major road widening project

GAINESVILLE - Plans to widen McEver Road Extension are moving ahead.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT)has begun accepting bids on the project.

The work will involve the widening, resurfacing, and some realignment of the road between Brown's Bridge Road and Dawsonville Highway. The bid specifications call for the work to be finished by the end of 2004.

Bids are to be opened October 18.
