Trucker accused of killing girlfriend's 2-year-old

JONESBORO - A Riverdale truck driver was charged with murder Wednesday night in the death of his girlfriend&#39;s 2-year-old son last weekend. <br> <br> Mark Alan Amerson, 39, admitted striking David Devine in the abdomen Saturday, Clayton County Police Lt. Jeff Turner said. <br> <br> The toddler was pronounced dead Sunday morning, five hours after the mother, Sara Devine, 25, found him unable to breathe in a bed in her Jonesboro mobile home. <br> <br> An autopsy indicated the child could have died of blows to the abdomen or the head, Turner said. Amerson confessed only to causing the abdomen injury, which caused internal bleeding, police said.
