VILLANOW - A garden has been planned in honor of two brothers who were killed while clearing brush at a home for troubled boys in Villanow.
62-year-old Larry Phelps and his 69-year-old brother Arvine were killed in July while doing volunteer work on the grounds of Mountain Top Boys Home in rural northwest Georgia.
Boulders now mark the site where the men were killed. Soon they will serve as the gateway into the planned memorial garden.
Members of the United Methodist Church in nearby Dalton hope to raise about ten thousand dollars for the memorial.
It will include fountains, benches, a gazebo and crosses.
Donnie Allen Hulett was charged in the slayings. He remains in the Walker County jail without bond.
Police say Hulett robbed the brothers of 400 dollars and other personal items and stole Larry Phelps' pickup truck.
