Lawyers question prospective jurors in grandmother's trial

ATLANTA - Prosecutors could begin trying to prove to a jury that an East Point grandmother should be convicted of involuntary manslaughter because her 11-year-old son killed her three-year-old granddaughter. <br> <br> Beverly Headspeth is accused of failing to protect the girl by leaving her with her son. <br> <br> Lawyers questioned prospective jurors Monday. Opening statements may come Tuesday. If convicted, she faces the possibility of 10 years in prison. <br> <br> Headspeth - who is 45 - brought Alexis to the hospital on July 29th with water in the child&#39;s lungs and head injuries. She said the child had nearly drowned in the bathtub. <br> <br> Alexis died August 1st after being taken off life support.
