DALTON - Dalton quarterback has been reinstated to the football team despite pending rape charges against him.
A Whitfield County grand jury in September indicted David Christopher Raymond, 18, on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and aggravated child molestation.

The charges stem from accusations that he forced a 15-year-old girl into having sex in his car in July. The girl said she was afraid to tell her mother about the alleged incident but told her friends.
Dalton High School football coach Ronnie McClurg said Raymond had been suspended under school policy for student-athletes facing problems outside of school.

``David has not been proven guilty of anything, period,'' McClurg said. ``There is an allegation.''
Dalton lost two of four games during Raymond's suspension. He was suspended on Sept. 27, just hours before a game.
His arraignment is set for Oct. 28.
