ATLANTA - More setbacks Wednesday in choosing a jury in the trial of an East Point grandmother charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her three-year-old granddaughter.

The judge in the case ordered lawyers to question a new jury pool Wednesday after state witnesses were heard conversing in the hall within the earshot of potential jurors.

The judge reprimanded the prosecutor in the case. Beverly Headspeth is accused of failing to protect the girl by leaving her in the care of her eleven-year-old son. Lawyers had hoped to have a jury seated before Wednesday.

The order to consider a new jury pool comes a day after a photograph of the girl -- Alexis -- was left face-up in the courtroom where it could be seen by the jury panel.
