GAINESVILLE - A 55-year-old black man from Asheville, North Carolina, moved through Hall County Wednesday on a March Across Dixie on behalf of Confederate heritage.

At times carrying the Confederate battle flag and what he calls the "real" Georgia flag - the one with the Confederate battle emblem, H.K. Edgerton walked down I-985.

Edgerton, a former president of the NAACP in Asheville, began his 1,385-mile march to Austin, Texas, October 13 in Asheville.

He says he's doing it to promote the history and heritage for all the people in Dixie.
