PINE MOUNTAIN - Only two weeks are left in the PGA Tour season, the time of year when some players find a calculator can be just as handy as their golf clubs.

The field for the Buick Challenge is stronger than usual because it's the last time it will be played at popular Callaway Gardens -- and because it's the last tournament before the Tour Championship up the road in Atlanta at East Lake.

A missed putt can be worth thousands of dollars, and every dollar matters for those trying to get into the top 30 on the money list to qualify for the five million dollars Tour Championship.

Others have the Buick Challenge and the Southern Farm Bureau Classic next week to get into the top 125 and keep their card for next year.

Yes, golf still matters.

Davis Love says he's seen some guys poring over the money list and watching guys finish on the computer, adding and subtracting.

He says his approach has always been, quote: ``If I'm going to play, go play well and don't worry about anyone else. At the end of the week, add it up.''

Easy for him to say. He's 25th on the money list and should be a safe bet to make it.

While the Buick Challenge doesn't have Tiger Woods, it does have top players such as Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, David Toms and defending champion Chris DiMarco, it's especially strong in the middle.

Las Vegas winner Phil Tataurangi (Number 34) is the only player between Nos. 25 and 34 on the money list who isn't playing this week. The rest are trying to secure their spots in the Tour Championship or knock someone out of the top 30.
