Judge revokes bond for grandmother charged with manslaughter

ATLANTA - A judge has revoked the bond for an East Point woman on trial for involuntary manslaughter because she brought a nail and a piece of glass to court. <br> <br> Fulton County Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Lane revoked the bond Thursday for Beverly Headspeth, who is charged in the death of her 3-year-old granddaughter Alexis. <br> <br> The judge said the nail and the glass could have been considered weapons. <br> <br> Prosecutors asked the judge to revoke bond after court officials said Headspeth passed the items to her boyfriend in her eyeglasses case in court Wednesday. Her boyfriend, Gregory Mena-Perez, is charged with child cruelty. <br> <br> Beverly Headspeth is accused of failing to protect her granddaughter by leaving her in the care of her 11-year-old son, who prosecutors say killed Alexis. <br> <br> Testimony continued in the trial Friday.
