Execution scheduled Nov. 19 for James Willie Brown

ATLANTA - A November 19th execution date has been set for a former mental patient convicted of murdering a woman after a night of dinner and dancing in 1975. <br> <br> James Willie Brown, 54, would be the ninth man put to death since Georgia adopted lethal injection as its method of execution. William Howard Putnam, 59, will be executed November 13th for killing two people at a rest area and another man at a truck stop in 1980. <br> <br> The Gwinnett County Superior Court ordered Brown&#39;s execution Thursday. <br> <br> Brown was sentenced to die in 1981 for the May 12th, 1975, strangulation of Brenda Sue Watson. <br> <br> But a federal court in 1988 reversed his sentence. He was retried and sentenced to death in 1990.
