Some investors sidelined as Datek Online hit by glitch

NEW YORK - Some investors had problems accessing their online brokerage accounts on Datek Online Financial Services' Web site Wednesday morning because of technical problems. <br>

The glitches, which Datek spokesman Michael Dunn blamed on "networking issues," lasted for about an hour, Datek said. The Datek Web site wasn't actually down, Dunn said, but some investors weren't able to log on to it. <br>

The problems have now been fixed. "Everything seems to be OK," Dunn said. <br>

The spokesman couldn't say how many Datek customers were affected by the problems, which were reported earlier Wednesday by financial-news station CNBC-TV. <br>

Datek also had technical problems in early December. The firm is a unit of closely held Datek Online Holdings Corp., Jersey City, N.J. <br>
