ATLANTA - An Atlanta man faces two counts of murder after police stopped a car dragging a woman's body along Interstate 20 and found another person dead inside.
Authorities were responding to a call of shots fired yesterday when they saw a yellow Chevrolet Caprice pulling away with what appeared to be a person hanging out of it.
Atlanta Police Sergeant Keith Meadows says officers followed the car less than a mile on Interstate 20, where the driver pulled into the median and stopped the car. Police say the driver attempted to flee but was apprehended.
Inside the vehicle, police found a man dead of a gunshot wound.
Meadows says the woman - who had been dragged by the car - had been shot.

He says the two victims apparently gave the suspect a ride to an apartment complex about 3 a.m.
The sergeant says the suspect pulled a gun and shot both the man who was driving and the woman passenger when the three arrived at the complex.
Police say there's a possibility the shootings were drug related. They have not released the name of the suspect.
