Roads open, but icy

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Police investigated five traffic accidents overnight, three of them weather-related. But, there were not injuries. <br> <br> And, Lt. David Childers says streets in the city are open and passable but extreme caution is advised. <br> <br> That is the case in most places this morning.<br> <br> Jackson County has snow and ice on their roads, with I-85 described as very dangerous.<br> <br> Lumpkin County sheriff&#39;s deputies are having to four-wheel drive vehicles, while Banks and White Counties report major problems, especially in the northern ends of their counties.<br> <br> State DOT crews have been out all night working on major roads in the area, and, again, all are passable, but, caution is advised.
