CHATTANOGA, TENNESSEE - Greyhound isn't paying hospital bills for passengers injured when a driver's throat was slashed October 3rd on Interstate 24 near Manchester.
Greyhound contends the company also is a victim of the criminal attack on the driver.
The Dallas-based company has advised hospital administrators and passengers who didn't have health insurance to seek help from the Tennessee Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund.
Hospital administrators say unpaid bills total more than 450-thousand dollars from the bus crash. Six passengers, including the attacker, died in the crash. A seventh died later at a hospital and all the other 34 on board were injured.
Bus passengers can apply to the state fund for up to 30-thousand dollars each to pay hospital and other related expenses.
