Hearst received 47 of the 50 votes.

Hearst has twice returned from career-threatening injuries to resume his position as one of the league's elite running backs.

The sight of Hearst ducking tacklers and dodging linebackers this fall was thrilling to those who followed the two-year odyssey of Hearst's return to football after he broke his left leg on his first carry of a playoff game at Atlanta in 1999.
