Newnan- The Coweta County district attorney has dropped a criminal investigation of Newnan Police Chief Ronnie Williams -- who had been accused of sexually assaulting a woman.
D-A Pete Skandalakis says he reviewed a report by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation of the woman's complaint. The prosecutor says he decided -- quote -- ``it's NOT a prosecutable offense.''
Williams has been sued by five female police employees who allege the 53-year-old chief sexually harassed and discriminated against them.
This week the City Council placed Williams on administrative leave with pay.
