DAHLONEGA - At a recent seminar at Northeast Georgia College and State University, Gainesville Police Chief Frank Hooper and other police chiefs from the area discussed the growing problem of underage drinking and tobacco use.

"We have taken a very proactive approach to addressing the problem in Gainesville and Hall County," Hooper says.

Chief Hooper says the Georgia Department of Revenue has assisted in the past to help enforce laws against selling alcohol and tobacco to minors.

Convenience stores and restaurants can lose their business or alcohol license if convicted of underage sale.
