Berkshire Hathaway acquires remaining shares of Shaw Industries

OMAHA, NEBRASKA - Shaw Industries is now fully owned by billionaire Warren Buffett. <br>

Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the investment firm Buffett heads, said Monday it has acquired the remaining 12 percent of the carpet maker's shares in a stock swap. <br>
<br>
Berkshire exchange more than 4,700 Class A Berkshire shares for the Shaw shares, which were owned by a group including chief executive officer Robert Shaw, president Julian D. Saul and members of their families. <br>
<br>
The transaction price was not disclosed. <br>
<br>
Berkshire Hathaway owns or has invested in companies such as International Dairy Queen, The Washington Post and Coca-Cola. <br>
<br>
Dalton-based Shaw is the world's largest manufacturer of tufted broadloom carpet.
