Gainesville-Hall building report issued

GAINESVILLE - Seventy-one permits were issued in Gainesdville and Hall County last month for new, single-family housing.

That brought to 70 the number issued in the city for the year, while the number in the county totaled 1,431.

Overall, the number of building permits of all kinds issued in the city in 2001 totaled 1,612 for work costing $83.6 million.

In the county, 4,413 permits were okayed during the year for work costing $228.3 million.
