GSU routs W. Carolina 96-67

STATESBORO - Julius Jenkins scored a career-high 34 points - including 6-of-11 from 3-point range - to lead Georgia Southern to a 96-67 rout of Western Carolina in a Southern Conference game Monday night. <br>

Jenkins scored 27 in the first half as the Eagles (10-7, 4-3 conference) raced to a 54-30 halftime lead. He was shooting 11-of-14 at intermission and finished the game hitting 14-of-21. <br>

Frank Bennett, Edward Keith and Sean Peterson added 10 points each for Georgia Southern. Peterson had 17 assists and Bennett had nine of the Eagles' 60 rebounds. <br>

The Catamounts (10-8, 4-3) had just two players in double figures, Kevin Martin with 12 and Corey Largent with 11. <br>
<br>
Georgia Southern led by at least 20 points for most of the second half. The closest Western Carolina got was 17 on a jumper by Martin halfway through the period.
