Walker County captures immate who was mistakenly released

LAFAYETTE - After six days of searching, Walker County officials have captured a man who was sentenced to life in prison but was wrongly released from jail last week. <br> <br> Allen Westmoreland of Rock Spring was sentenced for aggravated sodomy and for previous convictions on drugs and drunken driving charges. <br> <br> The 43-year-old Westmoreland accidentally was released by a jailer last Wednesday after other misdemeanor charges pending in State Court were dismissed. <br> <br> Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said police got a tip Tuesday and found Westmoreland at a friend&#39;s house, sitting at the kitchen table, drinking a glass of water. <br> <br> Wilson said the department did not realize Westmoreland had been released until a jailer&#39;s brother saw him walking down the street. The sheriff said people also reported seeing Westmoreland shooting pool.
