ATHENS - Georgia is raising single-game ticket prices by 19 percent for the 2002 season, from $27-$32. Student tickets will increase from five dollars to six dollars.

The hikes were announced Tuesday by athletic director Vince Dooley. He pointed out that eight other Southeastern Conference schools and rival Georgia Tech already charge more than $30 for single-game tickets.

Football accounts for the bulk of the revenue generated by the athletic program.

Georgia was scheduled to play seven home dates in 2002, including Clemson, Tennessee and Georgia Tech. But Tulane has pulled out of its September 21 date at Sanford Stadium, leaving Georgia officials searching for a replacement.
