College accidentally posts personal student information

ROME - Floyd College said Monday it had accidentally made the Social Security numbers of more than 100 students available on its Web site for weeks. The numbers were removed when the college was alerted to the glitch. <br> <br> An online registration form for a Floyd College department had been mistakenly sending Web surfers to the personal information, which also included addresses and phone numbers, school spokeswoman Sandy Briscar said. <br> <br> She said school logs showed only two people had viewed the page since it was accidentally posted. <br> <br> The school said it was reviewing whether other private information was put online through similar forms on the school Web site. <br> <br> ``I hope it&#39;s nipped in the bud,&#39;&#39; Briscar told The Daily Tribune News of Cartersville. ``I know that we&#39;ve eliminated that here and they&#39;re going to take more safety precautions.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Floyd College has about 2,5000 students.
