Northside Realty to merge with Coldwell Banker Buckhead Brokers

PARSIPPANY, N.J.- NRT, the nation&#39;s leading residential real estate brokerage company, today acquired the residential real estate brokerage operations of Northside Realty, one of Atlanta&#39;s largest independent real estate firms. <br> <br> Northside Realty will merge with NRT-owned Coldwell Banker Buckhead Brokers. The new organization will operate as Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.<br> <br> &#34;Coldwell Banker Buckhead Brokers has played a leadership role in the Atlanta real estate market and now, with the addition of Northside Realty&#39;s well-respected professionals, our family of companies will be even stronger,&#34; said Bob Becker, president and chief executive officer of NRT. &#34;We are excited to increase our presence in this market by uniting these two successful companies into one dynamic organization to better serve our clients.&#34;<br> <br> Jim Schmidt, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Buckhead Brokers, will lead the new organization. <br> <br> Charlotte Sears, formerly general sales manager with Northside Realty, now joins Barbara Gordon as executive vice president with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Northside Realty&#39;s Builder Developer Services division will now operate as Coldwell Banker Builder Developer Services. <br> <br> Bea McDowell will serve as its executive vice president. Coldwell Banker The Condo Store will continue as a specialty division within Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. David Tufts will continue in his role as its executive vice president.<br> <br> Northside Realty was previously owned by Fairgreen Capital, which operates several other businesses in Atlanta. Fairgreen Property Management, Fairgreen Development, Fairgreen Mortgage and Northside Insurance were not a part of this transaction.<br> <br> With the merger of Coldwell Banker Buckhead Brokers and Northside Realty, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will now have 38 offices and more than 2,100 sales associates serving Greater Atlanta. On a combined basis, the two companies represented more than $5 billion in sales volume and 20,000 closed transaction sides(a) in 2001.<br> <br> NRT is the nation&#39;s leading residential real estate brokerage company.
