Elliot tests at Toccoa

TOCCOA-- NASCAR star and Dawsonville native Bill Elliot made a surprise run Wednesday at 106 Speedway outside of Toccoa.<br>

Word of what was apparently set up as a "secret" test of a dirt car for "Awesome Bill" leaked out and about 125 people showed up to watch him run.<br>
<br>
Elliot wound up indulging the fans. He signed some autographs and even endorsed a blank check for an admirer. Word is he set the track record for fastest lap in his machine.<br>
