Larkin Harold Loudermilk

Larkin Harold Loudermilk, age 82, of Mt.Airy, died Thursday, November 16,2006, at Oconee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Habersham County on June 21, 1924, he was the son of the late Larkin Ervil and Effie Turpin Loudermilk. He was a graduate of Cornelia High School and LeTourneau Machinist School. He was a U.S. Army veteran assigned to the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II where he served on the U.S.S. Duluth. Upon returning from the service, he attended Piedmont College and the University of Georgia where he received a B.S. in Mathematics. He was Past Master and on Emeritus member of Mt. Airy Lodge #141 F.&A.M. and was also a member of the Royal Arch Masons. He retired from Habersham Central High School after 25 years of service as an engineer and also taught drafting at Habersham Central High School for 14 years. He was a former deacon at Camp Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Earline Youngblood Loudermilk of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Reverand Paul Wright of Mt. Airy; son, Edward Ervin Loudermilk of Buford; sister, Betty Sisk of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Paule W. and Jonathan Loudermilk, Matthew and Amy Wright, Polly Loudermilk, Tera L. Alden and LeAnn W. and Ernest Jackson; and great grand children, Miles Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Connor Jackson, Cameron Jackson, Chase Wright and Ella Grace Wright.

Funeral services are 4:00PM Monday, November 20, 2006, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Reverand Paul Wright and Reverand Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Reverand Billy Burrell officiating and full military honors and full Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9Pm on Saturday and 3-5PM on Sunday. The family is at the residence.
