The Georgia Supreme Court rules medical patients can sue an Athens clinic
The Georgia Supreme Court has ruled that patients may proceed with a lawsuit against a Clarke County medical center. Patients were upset to learn that, in 2016, the clinic’s computer databases were hacked and they filed a lawsuit, which was initially dismissed by an Athens-Clarke County trial court.

Buford fire kills a family pet
A family pet died in a house fire in downtown Buford Friday night. A 911 call was made just after 11 p.m. that a home was fully involved in flames on W. Moreno Street. Fire crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming out from the windows on all sides of the home.

Forsyth County man indicted on forgery charges
A Forsyth County man deposited 64 fraudulent checks at Regions and Wells Fargo banks in South Forsyth and Cumming, stealing over $350,000. He was arrested in July and indicted just this week for 64 counts of forgery and two counts of computer theft.

Conviction in Gwinnett murder after 23 years
A 52-year old Buford man has been convicted of murder 23 years after the crime was committed. Hector U. Garay was convicted Thursday of killing Adalberto Salinas, a successful Gwinnett County businessman, in 1996.
