Blood trail leads authorities to mysterious death in Barrow County
A female has been found deceased in a Barrow County residence, with little information as to what happened. On Sunday morning, March 8, authorities were called to 88 Goldshore Way in Statham after a neighbor saw a blood trail from the driveway to the entrance of the home.

"Live work play" community approved for Forsyth County
A new “live work play” community is the future of Forsyth County. The City of Cumming will look a little different in a few years, as the City Council just approved, with conditions, rezoning 151 acres between Marketplace Blvd., Turner Road and Hwy. 400, to allow for a mixed-use community.

Gainesville woman faces check forgery charges
A Gainesville woman has been arrested for forging checks. Sonya Althea Beauford, 46, was arrested earlier this month for a probation violation, but, after her arrest, an investigation into her actions means she now faces additional charges.

Jackson County drug bust seizes over $50,000 worth of Methamphetamine
On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, deputies searching a Maysville home in Jackson County discovered over $50,000 worth of Methamphetamine. Also seized in the bust was a ¼ pound of marijuana and a firearm.

Former Gwinnett deputy sentenced to ten years in prison for drug trafficking
A former Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release after he entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking and making false statements.

Dr. John Raber, former Dahlonega mayor, passed away on February 20, 2020. Not only did he serve two terms as mayor, but he was active in the community as a councilman, commissioner and professor at The University of North Georgia.
