Lula wastewater plant working 'going very well'
Lula City Manager Dennis Bergin told the city council Monday night work is going "very well" on the city's new wastewater treatment plant which he said would probably be completed by the end of October.

Ousted SCLC execs may have mishandled over $500K
A spokesman for a Southern Christian Leadership Conference faction meeting in Atlanta says an ongoing internal investigation has revealed that the group's ousted chairman and treasurer have mishandled at least $569,000, and more funds and other individuals may be involved.

Hall County burn ban date nears
Hall County Fire Marshall Scott Cagle reminds Hall County residents that beginning May 1, and running through September 30, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division prohibits outdoor burning in 54 area counties in order to reduce pollutants that create ground-level ozone.
