By Austin Eller News Director

The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Gainesville man Tuesday in connection to the murder of his wife at their home in the 300 block of Crescent Drive.

According to a release from the agency, Ivan Reyes-Jimenez, 50, was charged with felony murder, felony malice murder and felony aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act.

Investigators responded to a 911 call at the home at about 6 p.m. Tuesday where they found the body of Ana Sofia Martinez Campos, 33. Evidence at the scene indicated Campos died of blunt force trauma. Hall County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said investigators believe Campos died earlier in the day. A family member called 911 after finding her body.

A law enforcement BOLO was then issued for Jimenez and his vehicle, a black passenger car with markings for a local taxi cab company. A Hall County Deputy and a Gainesville Police Officer conducted a felony stop on the vehicle at a convenience store on E.E. Butler Parkway at about 8 p.m. Jimenez was arrested there without incident.

He remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Wednesday morning.

Campos' body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy. The agency said they were unaware of a motive in the murder.
