White County: Traffic stop leads to drug bust

A drug bust occurred after a traffic stop in White County on Sunday night. Around 10:30 p.m., a White County deputy noticed a white SUV on that was not staying in its lane on Hwy. 356 near Timber Loft Cottages.

According to the White County Sheriff’s Office, the driver told the deputy that he had drugs inside the SUV. The officer was able to see drug paraphernalia in plain view, so a full search was conducted. 

The driver, Anderson Dowdy of Watskinville, GA was arrested after deputies found 42 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of marijuana, 3.5 grams of cocaine and a large sum of money. 

Dowdy was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and failure to maintain lane.
