New website gives public access to the City of Lawrenceville's financial transactions

The City of Lawrenceville has announced a new online program that gives the community access to the city’s financial activity. A new link has been added to the city’s website that takes citizens directly to a new online program called “Open Checkbook.”

“The City of Lawrenceville is delighted to offer a sophisticated level of financial transparency to our citizens,” said Mayor David Still.  “We are one of only five communities in the state of Georgia offering this particular type of digital transparency product.”

The site “Open Checkbook”, created by Socrata, is updated weekly with current fiscal year budgetary numbers and provides a transparent look at city expenses with interactive charts, graphs and tables.  Financial information is available for capital projects, operating, vendor-related, and payroll expenditures.

Through the website, city budgets dating back to 2019 are available. Digital versions of the most recent Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports and Budget Report are also available.

To find the full financial report, go to lawrencevillega.org and click on “Financial Transparency.”
