4 seriously injured in Habersham County car accident

Five people were injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on Ga. 365 in Habersham County. 

According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, the collision happened near Crane Mill Road. 

A Chevrolet Express van was reportedly traveling southbound on Ga. 365 in the right lane toward the road's intersection with Crane Mill Road. The Chevrolet contained one driver and three additional passengers.

A 2007 Honda Civic, driven by Sam Manley of Alto, was traveling west on Crane Mill Road attempting to travel straight across Ga. 365. Manley allegedly failed to yield and drove into the Chevrolet's path. The Chevrolet struck the right side of the Honda.

Manley suffered serious injuries in the accident.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Francisco Rodriguez of Norcross, and two of his passengers, Nilda Mazariegos of Lilburn, and Jose Rodriguez of Norcross, all suffered serious injuries. A third passenger, Santiago Barbery of Norcross, suffered minor injuries.

All five people involved in the accident were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their injuries.

The GSP said charges are pending.
