By AccessWDUN Staff

A Lawrenceville man was arrested Sunday on charges related to the molestation of a child in Watkinsville

According to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Victor Jimenez Pastor, 22, was arrested on Eastern Connecticut State University's campus.

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office requested help from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit for a child exploitation investigation on March 18.

Pastor was reportedly in contact with a child over a social media platform. Pastor was allegedly chatting in a sexually explicit manner with the child and traveled from his home in Lawrenceville to meet the child in Watkinsville. He then allegedly drove the child to another location in Oconee County, where he committed the offense of aggravated child molestation. Pastor then took the child home before returning to his home in Lawrenceville.

Arrest warrants were taken out against Pastor on the same day he allegedly committed the offense. However, it was later determined that he had returned to college in Connecticut.

Pastor was booked into the Willimantic, Connecticut City Jail where he was being held and awaiting extradition to Oconee County as of Friday morning. He was charged with aggravated child molestation, computer pornography and child exploitation prevention act, obscene internet contact with a child, electronically furnishing obscene material to minors and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
