Sixth case of rabies confirmed in Hall County

A rabid skunk has been found in the Clermont area. The skunk came into contact with a dog on Thompson Rd and was shipped to the Georgia Health Lab in Decatur.

Today the Hall County Animal Control was advised that the skunk did test positive for rabies.

This is the sixth confirmed case of rabies in Hall County in 2021.

According to a news release from Hall County, positive alert signs will be posted in the area where the rabid skunk was located.

The release reminds owners to protect their pets with a rabies vaccine. It’s available at the Hall County Animal Shelter for $10.
