A Gainesville man was reportedly shot and killed early Saturday morning just east of Gainesville behind a home off of East Ridge Road.
According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call of reported gunshots along Wade Drive just before 2 a.m. At that time, deputies found the body of Qualyn Tanner, 21, behind a home on Wade Drive.
Tanner had been shot multiple times, according to the release. His body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for autopsy.
Investigators later identified a suspect in the shooting, Daniel Guerrero, 32, of Gainesville. Guerrero was arrested after investigators found him walking along I-985 in Hall County at 8:30 a.m.
Guerrero is charged with malice murder in the incident.
The crime remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
