Monroe man arrested in Towns County meth trafficking bust

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Towns County Sheriff's Office arrested a man from Monroe last week in what they are calling the largest methamphetamine bust in Towns County history.

In a social media post, the Sheriff's Office states Alex Michael Robinson, 32, was arrested June 17, and allegedly found in possession of six pounds of methamphetamine, four pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine pills, Xanax, various other pills, three handguns and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The drugs were allegedly meant to be divided into smaller amounts and be delivered to drug dealers in Towns County.

"This will impact the supply chains of drugs coming into Towns County and sold to our community and youth," the post reads.

This arrest comes after a four-month investigation which later turned into a three-day "around the clock" investigation. A team consisting of Sheriff Ken Henderson, drug agents and deputies converged on Robinson and arrested him without incident around midnight Thursday.
