Body identified in possible Hall County homicide

Update, 4/21 12:56 p.m.:

The body of man found off of Candler Road has been identified.

The deceased is identified as Richard Clay Moon, 53, of Talmo, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives are still treating the case as a suspicious death and possible homicide. They believe Moon died within a 24-hour period of when his body was found. There are no suspects at this time.

Moon's body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy.

According to an original report from the Sheriff's Office, Moon's body was discovered yesterday around 10 a.m. by workers in the area, who then called 911.

A cause of death may be determined pending autopsy results. More information will be provided when it becomes available.

 

Update, 4/21 3:16 p.m.:

The Hall County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a possible homicide off of Candler Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, there are signs of a struggle at the property. The dead man shows signs of blunt force trauma.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible homicide off of Candler Road.

Deputies responded to a call around 10 a.m. reporting a dead man at a residential property in the 4,000 block of Talmo Road, according to a social media post by the department.
