Couple identified after being found dead in a car

The Hall County Sheriff's Office identified two people who were found dead in a car in a Hall County parking lot yesterday afternoon.

The couple, who were in a relationship, are identified as Kevin Anthony Lacey, 59, and Janice Ruth Dye, 52.

An employee of a business on Ga.60/Thompson Bridge Road, in the area of Farm Road, discovered the bodies in the 2001 Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot and called 911.

According to the initial investigation, Lacey shot Dye with a handgun and then he shot himself. Investigators found the gun and a note in the car. Detectives said they most likely died between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

The bodies have been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.

The case is still under investigation.
