Teenager arrested in Gwinnett shootings

Update, Thursday, 3/18:

A Loganville teenager has now been arrested in last weekend’s shootings in Gwinnett County. Two men were found shot in a car in Loganville early Saturday morning. One man was dead and another injured.

Makilyn Chavon Manzie, age 17, was arrested Thursday and charged with the crimes. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution says that investigators identified him based on leads and evidence found at the scene of the shooting.

Detectives are still trying to determine what led to the shootings, as well as a motive behind them.

Manzie was booked into the Gwinnett County jail, where he remains without bond. He faces charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Update, Tuesday, 3/16:

The Gwinnett County Police Department has identified the victim of Saturday's Loganville homicide as Devond Holmes, 20, from Loganville. The person who was injured was a 16-year-old juvenile.

Investigators are still working to identify a motive.

Two men were shot in a car on Foxberry Run in Loganville early Saturday morning.

When Gwinnett County Police officers arrived on scene, they found one man dead inside the vehicle with at least one gunshot wound.

Officers then found another man that was injured in the shooting. He was taken to the hospital, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

The victims' names are being withheld at this time. There is no known motive for the shooting, and no known suspects.
